The Farmhouse difference

The outcomes of a
new learning life.

Unique individuality is celebrated/embraced. We foster creativity, curiosity, character and resilience in every single one of our students at a personal level, because there is no one size fits all. And that's how we like it.

Confidence

By mastering tasks through self-directed work, children develop a profound belief in their own ability to navigate new challenges.

Capability

Hands-on work sits alongside reading, writing and maths. Children learn to manage their own time and see a task through, which is what makes the learning stick.

Future-Readiness

Our graduates are empathetic leaders and critical thinkers, ready to adapt to the complexities of a world reshaped by technology and AI.

Scientific education

Our Philosophy is designed for your individual child.

Children here aren't marched through the same page at the same time. The room is set up so they can follow what genuinely interests them, with a guide nearby to stretch them when they're ready. It can look relaxed, but the structure is there, just invisible, and it covers everything the national curriculum requires.

Ages mix on purpose. Younger children learn from older ones. Older children teach what they know, and teaching is the test, because you cannot explain something you only half understand. It builds patience, leadership, and friendships across year levels.

Environment as teacher

North Head: Our Nature Sanctuary

Learning does not stop at the classroom door. The campus sits inside North Head Sanctuary, so bushland, headland and ocean air are part of an ordinary day, and exploring is something children do rather than something they read about.

Voices of our community

Loved by families across the Northern Beaches.

"My two children are very different academically and socially, and the nurturing environment of the school enabled both to thrive in different ways. More than that, it set them up to transition confidently into and through the turbulent high school years. It is an amazing school in an incredible natural setting."
Melissa Parent, Manly
"The Farmhouse Primary community has been a decade-long source of friendships and support for us as an expat family. The teachers are exceptional and seem to know exactly how to support and challenge each child to help them thrive. As a family that values nature time, the bush location is a real highlight."
Rachel Parent, Balgowlah
"We moved back from New Zealand on the condition that our children could attend Farmhouse Primary. The school has given us so much more than the Montessori philosophy: strong friendships, engaged community, beautiful natural surroundings and genuine nurturing from educators."
Holly and Stewart Parent, Manly
"I truly value the approach to education the teachers take to build confidence, resilience, a strong sense of self and a love of learning. They promote independence and empower students to lead, communicate and be an active part of their own learning journey."
Claire Parent, Dee Why
"My kids started at Farmhouse a few weeks after moving to Australia from Europe. They knew no one. Yet from day one, they felt at home. The community we found is next level to what we ever found before: engaged, supportive, kind, respectful and so fun."
Sophie Parent, Balgowlah Heights
"My kids love the space to choose and plan their week, and you can see their growth in personal responsibility and independence. How many parents say that their kids get up in the morning and want to go to school to learn more?"
Matt Parent, Manly
"We moved from overseas to the Northern Beaches specifically for Farmhouse Montessori. The kids adore the school, the teachers are inspirational, and the parent community is more engaged than any previous school I've experienced."
Emma Parent, Manly Vale
"Our daughter told us she wanted to return to Montessori. She was searching, in her own way, to better satisfy her deep love of learning and curiosity for the world. We have loved watching her blossom this year. It really is beyond what we could have possibly hoped for."
